Overview of Company

We are a Fiji registered and domiciled insurance company and commenced business in 1987. The original investors were all associated with our Chairman, Hari Punja.

In 1991 Gary Callaghan joined the company and since then the shareholding has altered with further capital raisings. There are now two equal shareholders, Hari Punja & Sons Limited, an investment company owned by Hari Punja and his family and Carlisle Limited which is a company owned by interests associated with Gary Callaghan’s family.

We are able to underwrite most types of general insurance including medical and term life covers.

The Board and management have been very careful to grow the company in a controlled and disciplined manner over the last 20 years. There has been a focus on limiting the exposure of shareholders funds with appropriate reinsurance protections and strict underwriting guidelines

The success of this approach is illustrated by the following financial statistics.

• Total assets have risen from an initial $1 million to more than $30 million.
• Shareholders funds have increased from an initial $500,000 to more than $9 million
• Our return on shareholders funds over the last 10 years has averaged more than 13% per annum

In 1999 we established a subsidiary insurance company in Tonga and in the same year we also established a finance company in which we are the major shareholder.

In 2004 we formed an associate insurance company in Vanuatu.

The Directors of our company are Hari Punja, Gary Callaghan and Sanjay Punja.
